About me

Hi, my name is Christine, but most people call me Chris.

I am a dedicated amateur artist with a flair for creating unique, elegant pieces that tell stories. Growing up in the country I was surrounded by textures, colours, and endless creativity, collecting trinkets as I went.

I developed a love for creating ceramics after winning a block of clay and an online instruction session in COVID. Being mainly self taught, I am now beginning to push myself to create new objects as I find my style and recently I created my first ceramic lamp. Inspired by natures beauty and urban landscapes, I am inspired to create one off objects that blend modern sophistication and timeless charm.

My work is sold in Australia through the Emergent Online Gallery by Studio On Brunswick in Brisbane and, locally on Instagram and Facebook, to cover expenses and help me progress as an amateur artist.

My current work is based on the joy and the nostalgia we hold for some of our everyday favourite objects and the connection of how food takes us back to our childhood.

I create unique ceramic pieces, one at a time, that intertwine their story into your daily life. I love the endless creativity that ceramics allows, using a variety of mediums, from my garage in Brisbane (Magandjin).

Independent Vision Art Prize- Emerging Artist Award

On the 7th of February, I was awarded the Emerging Artist Award, as part of the the Independent Vision Art Prize for 2026. The Award is presented by Studio on Brunswick and open to all Australian Artists. Over 50 artists and over 100 works were judged by Guest Judge Kate Marek, with the support of the studio's Affiliates and curator-owner Lyne Tilt.

Congratulations to all the Award winners of the evening:

First Prize, Robyn Barren; SB Artist Accelerator Award, Susan Trimble; Second Prize, Shonnie Lea Lamas; Affiliate Award 3D, Sarah Audrey; Affiliate Award 2D, Kylie Findlay; Affiliate Commendation 3D, Justine Dique and for Affiliate Commendation 2D, Ann Rayment.

A big thank you Lyne Tilt and to my friends who came to share and support me on this wonderful evening. This award was something I had not even placed myself in consideration for.
